Brown (tory_brown@yahoo.com) ::A r c T w e n t y:: Bleach Blondes' Bombshell "Why the hell are you two blonde!?" Moshi exclaimed. Shi and Miko froze and glanced at each other with worry. Rei and Ami on the other hand, paled considerably slightly. Everyone else KNEW the reason why the two girls were blondes. Moshi on the other hand did not. "Ok," Moshi started, folding her arms. "Since no one is answering, I'll ask again. Why the hell are you two blonde?!" A cold bead of sweat slid down Miko's face. "Nandemonai, Mama!" Moshi cocked a dark eyebrow. "What?!" Shi opened her mouth to offer an explanation when the after lunch bell began to ring. Taking that as a sign of release, Miko grabbed Shi's hand the Tenchino children vanished from sight, down the stairwell. "GET BACK HERE!" Moshi screamed at her retreating children. Rei put a hand on Moshi's shoulder, preventing the angry future mother from stampeding after her children. "Save it for later, we better get back to class." Ami smiled. "Thanks for coming by, Rei-chan. You better get going, you have to go across town." Moshi nodded. "Won't you get in trouble?" Rei shook her head. "Next class is self-study." Rei watched her two friends walk towards the exit. Moshi stopped as Ami exited the roof. Turning around she faced Rei. "Rei-chan?" "Hai?" Rei said. "How did you know we were in trouble?" Moshi questioned. Shrugging, Rei spoke. "I don't know, I sorta heard you screaming. Not in my ears though, but in my mind." The violet eyes grew round and large. "I felt you near too. You don't think..." she trailed off. Not needing to say anything, both knew what she was talking about. It could have been a left over from when the two dark haired girls shared bodies. Rei walked forward and draped an arm across the taller girl's shoulders. "Well, we better get used to it, it seems we're going to have this forever." Moshi blanched. "Great." * * * * Chibimo and Miko looked at Moshi with large eyes. For a half-hour, their mother constantly paced before the two, not saying a word. A hand under her chin worked furiously as she tried to comprehend why the two were blondes. Mamoru, sitting nearby to support his nieces, watched warily as his sister worked the floor nervously. Poor Usagi who just happened to be visiting Mamoru, sat on edge as well, wondering if Moshi was going to lash out at her. Moshi suddenly stopped and turned on the Tenchino siblings, causing the youngest of them to jump and try to hide behind her older sister. "Now, you two have been awfully quiet whenever I asked you why you are blonde. Now, you're going to tell me, or do I have to get it out of you?" Miko let out a scared squeak and clutched at Chibimo's arm. Chibimo, sat stiffly, ready to brave any onslaught her mother would throw at her. "I didn't want to be the one to tell you, but it's...." Chibimo trailed off, shuddering under the icy violet stare. "It's...what?!" Moshi exclaimed. "The reason we're here is why we're blonde!" Miko piped up from behind her sister. Moshi cocked a dark eyebrow. "That still doesn't explain anything!" Sighing, Chibimo grabbed her sister and pushed her forward. "Remember how you said Miko looks JUST like dad!? Look closer!" Miko grinned nervously while batting her big blue eyes. Moshi leaned in close and examined her youngest closely. The eyes were a clue. Miko always had the eyes of her dad. Where did she see a pair of eyes that shade of blue before... "Kami-sama," Moshi whispered. She looked closer and noted their hair was a particular shade of yellow. That same yellow a certain someone had... Mamrou braced himself for the cursing and screaming. Usagi did the same. "You mean, your name isn't Tenchino in the future?!" Moshi squeaked. The now unnamed siblings shook their head. "Kami-sama," Moshi repeated, grabbing her oldest daughter and leaning on her for support. "That would mean, my name isn't Tenchino Moshi either...it's...it's... DAITOU MOSHI!?!?!?!?" "Hai," both said quietly. "Get prepared for the explosion, Usako," Mamoru muttered to Usagi, who was already glued to his arm. The realization of the situation hit Moshi like a lightning bolt. Standing straight up and grabbing onto her ponytail with both hands, Moshi screamed, "YOU MEAN I MARRY JADEITE INSTEAD OF HOSHI!!! WWAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" "Hai," both repeated. "WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING!!! AAAHHHH OH NOOO! THERE IS NO GOD!!!" Moshi screamed, ripping her purple ribbon from her hair. The dark locks fell over her shoulders in dark rivers, but she didn't care. Quickly she whirled on Mamoru and Usagi. "You knew, didn't you? You all knew and didn't tell me!" she screamed, pouncing on Mamoru and trying, but failing, to grab him in a headlock. Usagi screamed and dashed away from the couch, falling onto Chibimo and Miko. Mamoru wrapped his arms around his sister and clamped tight, forcing her to stop struggling. "Midget, calm down! Now you see why we didn't tell you!" "I want to marry Hoshi, not Jadeite!" Moshi whined, falling limply against Mamoru. "That's why we're here, to make sure that you do, or we're blondes forever!" Chibimo exclaimed. Moshi growled. "That hussy, he was simply biding time to make the move on me! I'm going to kill him!" She broke loose from Mamoru's grasp and headed for the door. Usagi quickly gave chase, following the dark tornado Mamrou watched the stormy exit and sighed. "We better follow, because if she kills him, you two vanish." "I didn't think of that!" Chibimo exclaimed, taking chase after her mother and Usagi Mamoru sighed, it was going to be a long day. * * * * Jadeite was tired. He'd had a long day at his daycare job in Azabu. Granted it was a bit tiring, but he finally felt complete, living an honest life. There was the occasion when he thought about his former life, his life with Mosite. "I can't think about her, she's dedicated her life to someone else," Jadeite mused as he wiped his blond hair with a towel. Donning a pair of old sweats and a t-shirt, he padded into the living room of the vast mansion and plopped on the couch, preparing to doze the night away. *BAM* *BAM* *BAM* "Great, who is it now!?" the former general was often plagued by visits of the neighborhood's single women and children. He walked over to the door and opened it; a look of surprise crossed his face. Mosite and her friends were standing on the doorstep. The rest had scared looks on their face, Mosite however, looked ready to kill. "Mosi-er Moshi-chan, what brings you here?" He swore he heard Mamoru mutter in the back "Why did you ask that?" Moshi stormed into the house with three blondes in tow. One he remembered as Sailormoon, the other two were a complete mystery. Jadeite was staring at the shorter blonde with odd fascination. She looked... familiar to him. "Um, do I at least get an explanation as to why you're storming my house?" Jadeite asked, looking at the younger blonde again. Moshi stomped before her ex friend and pointed a finger at him. "You harlot!" "Nani!?" he exclaimed. "First tell me WHY I'm a harlot!" Flabbergasted Moshi started stammering. "Look at her! Just look! LOOK!" she exclaimed, pointing to the shorter blonde. "Okay, what's she got to do with anything?" Jadeite asked, completely baffled now. Mamoru groaned, Usagi covered her eyes and the other two blondes fidgeted with their hands. Moshi grabbed Miko and shoved her towards Jadeite. "Have a good look, I'm sure it'll make you think!" Miko stumbled before Jadeite and looked up at him with large blue eyes. For a brief second, he felt as if he was looking at a female version of himself. Then it hit him. She had his eyes, they both had his hair color, could it be? "You're my daughter!?" Miko grinned sheepishly. "Hi, papa." Chibimo chimed in. "Technically at this moment, you're our father." Jadeite's hands flew to his chest to contain his beating heart. If these were his daughters, then who was the mother? "If I'm your father, then that would mean..." he trailed off, looking at the oldest who was a spitting image of Moshi, if Moshi wore a blond wig. "Keep thinking, blondie!" Moshi exclaimed. "I MARRIED YOU!?" Jadeite exclaimed. "Yes, in the future I'm Daitou Moshi, not Tenchino Moshi! DAMN YOU!" Moshi roared, pointing at the ex general. Jadeite swooned, could it possibly be? He would marry Moshi in the future? "I don't know what to say. I actually have children. They're beautiful!" Chibimo and Miko blushed at his open comment. "How old are you now?" Miko said quietly. "I'm the same age as mama now, 16." Chibimo stood up a bit straighter. "I'm an adult, I'm 22 and actually I was married." Moshi, Jadeite and Mamoru's eyes grew two sizes large. "YOU WHAT!?" "To who?!" Moshi exclaimed, looking at her adult daughter. Chibimo shook her head. "It doesn't matter, he died of cancer a year after we were married." Jadeite walked over to his eldest daughter. "Did you have any children?" For the first time since Moshi met her eldest daughter, she saw tears forming in the corner of the eyes of the normally stoic Chibimo. Chibimo wiped at her eyes with the back of her hand. "I was pregnant, but lost the baby due to the stress of his death." All the anger left Moshi in a flash and she was at her daughter's side, embracing her. "I didn't know, I'm so sorry." "I miss him so much and I was pregnant with a girl." Her voice cracked as she spoke. "She was going to be Neo Paradise and I was going to name her Moshi." Seconds later, every eye in the room was moist with tears. Mamoru was glad that it didn't turn out as gruesome as Moshi had planned it to be. Once the moment had passed, Moshi looked into the moist eyes of her daughter. "You want things to be the way they were before?" "Hai, I want to be Tenchino Moshi, not Daitou Moshi," Chibimo said, wiping another tear that sneaked from the corner of her eye. From his right, Mamoru heard a soft gasp from Jadeite. Looking over, he saw the blond man take a step back, as if he was suddenly shoved backward. Either way this turned out, someone was bound to be hurt, and from the way it looked, it was going to be Jadeite. "Hoshi-san is the key, you must reconcile with him to make things right," Miko supplied. Moshi nodded. "There's no time like the present, we better get going!" "I'll go with you," Jadeite said softly. At least he would have some time to see what his daughters could possibly be like. Moshi whirled around on Jadeite, preparing to snap at him, when his expression stopped her mid-step. He looked devastated, the same expression he had when she defected to the Moon Kingdom. The remembrance of the expression cut through her soul. She'd forgotten that this was the only chance he had to see what the offspring of their union would possibly look like. She walked forward and clasped his hands as they did a millennia ago. "Jadeite-kun..." Pulling back, Jadeite dropped his hands to his sides. "If this," he said gesturing to Chibimo and Miko. "is my fault, then the least I can do is help." Moshi felt like she was kicked in the chest. Seeing her expression, Usagi took this time to usher the bystanders into the hallway to give the former friends time together. "Jadeite-kun, Gomen. I got so wrapped up in my own future, I didn't think about how it would affect you," Moshi said, placing a hand on his shoulder. A sad smile crossed his face. "No, it's ok. It's just nice to know what our children would have looked like." He sighed loudly, his shoulders drooping lower. "I know that you love Hoshi. What we had was another lifetime." A fey look emerged in Moshi's eyes. "Another lifetime. Sometimes I do miss it." Looking into Moshi's eyes, he said. "So do I, Mosite. So do I." * * * * Tenchino Koichi was busy preparing for his next day exam. This was the midterm for the physics intro class. The beginning physics class was always his favorite. The professor would gleefully try to convert as many students to the profession of physics as he could. His greatest accomplishment so far was his son following in his footsteps. Koichi hoped that Hoshi would eventually become a professor at his own KO university, but the proud parent secretly wished his son would take it a step farther and teach at Tokyo University. As of late though, Koichi was worried. Hoshi was becoming more and more distant with each day. Usually his son was open and energetic, eager to talk with his father each day. That is, until Moshi stepped into his life. Koichi could tell that this was possibly the one. She seemed to be a complement to him. Where he was light, she was dark. Another bonus was she liked his cooking. As a freelance practicing chef, he needed a guinea pig every once in a while. Flipping through the lesson plan, a knock at the door caught his attention. "Hai!" The professor opened the front door to two blondes, one had her hair pinned in an odd hairstyle, similar to that he saw in some on of Moshi's old school photos. "Can I help you?!" Usagi beamed one of her award winning smiles. "Konnichi wa! Is Hoshi-san here?" Koichi scratched his head, was Hoshi dating again!? "Um..." "Ano, I'm a friend of Mo-chan!" Usagi added, noting the funny expression on his face. "Ah, Moshi!" Koichi stepped back. "Come in, any friend of hers is welcomed here!" Usagi stepped in with Miko in tow. "Atashi Tsukino Usagi! This here is Daitou Miko!" At the mention of her family name, Miko grimaced slightly. We're in Moshi's class at school!" "So what brings Moshi's friends here today?" Koichi asked. "We wanted to tell Hoshi about how she's doing. She's not doing too well since they broke up," Miko stated. "In fact, she's been having a lot of detention from not doing her homework." Usagi threw Miko a glance. The girl was boldly lying as if it was real! Usagi really didn't want to lie, so she placed a worried expression on her face to push Miko's comments along. Koichi gasped, was all this really happening? He glanced at his watch noting the time. "At this time he's usually in the library, he's preparing for a midterm, you should be able to find him there." Usagi and Miko bowed. "Arigato!" The professor watched the two girls exit and his mind started to wander. What the hell was going on? Walking down the hallway, Usagi looked at Miko. "Just where did you think that up!" Looking innocent, Miko asked. "Think what up?" "That back there," Usagi said. "The detention and homework tale!" Miko shrugged nonchalantly. "Hey, I'm on a mission here. I gotta do what I gotta do." Usagi looked blankly at Miko for a second and then added. "You are definitely your mother's daughter." "Thanks!" Miko said with a large grin. "Now that we know where he is, this looks like a job for Red Ninja Usagi!" Usagi exclaimed, balling one small hand into a fist. "Oh and her sidekick, Mirai Blue Ninja Miko!" "Oh dear, not the ninja suits!" Miko exclaimed. She remembered Minako telling her the tale of Usagi in the Red Ninja suit sneaking around constantly. "Yes, to my house!" Usagi exclaimed, grabbing Miko and dragging her behind her. * * * * Mamoru and Chibimo were flabbergasted, somehow on the way from Jadeite's mansion they lost Usagi and Miko. The two scanned the area around them, but came up empty. "Where could they have gone!?" Chibimo said flabbergasted. Mamoru sighed. "Let me ask this one thing," he stated. "Miko is friends with Chibiusa in the future right?" "Hai," his future niece nodded. "What would Chibiusa do in this situation?" The look of understanding crossed Chibimo's face. "Oh goodness, you mean they went to Hoshi's house!?" Mamoru nodded. "They're probably on their way to talk to him now." "That'll ruin everything!" Chibimo exclaimed. * * * * For hours, Hoshi poured over his physics material. He really didn't need to study so hard since physics was second nature to him. The studying only helped keep his mind on track. When he wasn't studying, any girl walking by with black hair would snag his attention. Other students in the library stared at the two girls dressed in ninja suits, one blue the other red. Embarrassed, Miko tried to melt into the wall, hoping not to be seen. "Usagi-sama, the idea of a ninja is NOT to be seen!" Miko hissed, tugging on one of the red ponytails. Usagi brushed the younger girl hands away. "I see him! Let's go!" Miko couldn't understand why Usagi wanted to sneak around in ninja suits, she guessed Usagi like the idea of scaling walls and crawling on her belly, but for her, this was torture! The two ninjas crawled along the floor, drawing snickers and glances from other students as they made their way to Hoshi's table. By the time the two made it to the table, Hoshi was already out the door, whistling a tune under his breath. Miko glanced at her future queen. "Um, he's gone." Usagi snapped her fingers. "Darn, got away. Come on, Blue Ninja Miko, we must go after our prey!" Miko sighed, she didn't remember Neo Queen Serenity being this nuts! * * * * Together, Moshi and Jadeite walked towards the downtown section of Juuban. By glancing at her watch, Moshi knew where Hoshi would be. Everyday, after studying hard at the library, he would venture over to crown parlor for a fruit smoothie. Jadeite came in support, hoping he could convince Hoshi that he was doing the wrong thing. Pausing across the street, Moshi spotted him sitting at the cafe. "Mite, there he is." Jadeite looked to his former friend. "Well, it's up to you, what are you going to do?" "I don't know," Moshi said. "I'm actually kind of nervous. I sorta gotten used to being alone again." He placed a hand on her shoulder. "As long as I'm here, you'll never be alone." Moshi sighed. "We KNOW that now! Remember the two blondes?" The ex general paled a few shades. "Yaa..." The two walked to the crosswalk preparing to cross the street when Chibimo and Mamoru appeared from around the corner. "Midget! We lost Usako and Miko!" Mamoru puffed, bending over and trying to catch his breath from running. Chibimo puffed too. "Somehow--they--escaped--us." Moshi's eyes grew large, Usagi must have had a plan and roped Miko into it. "Oh goodness, she's corrupting my kids already?!" Unbeknownst to the small group, a pair of ninjas were tucked away in the branches of a tree. Usagi, used to the bit before, clung tightly as she watched Hoshi across the street. Miko was starting to slide and knew she was going to break something. "Usagi-sama, I can't hold on!" Miko gasped, digging into the branches trying to find something stronger to hold onto. Usagi stretched, holding out one arm. "Grab my hand!" At that second, Miko's grip gave way just as she grabbed Usagi's hand. "I'm falli---AAHAHHH!" The momentum of the younger girl falling, yanked Usagi free from her branch and the two ninjas fell to the ground in a ball of arms, legs and ninja suits. "What the hell!?" Moshi exclaimed when her attention was brought to vicinity of the tree. "ITAI!" Usagi cried, extracting her arm from under Miko's back. Mamoru and Jadeite rushed to their aid, helping them to their feet. "Usako, why do you have your niece running around like this?!" Mamoru asked chidingly. Usagi blushed. "I'm the Red Ninja of love and I was hoping to fix the situation before it got worse." "Worse?!" Moshi parroted. "If you two had went over there like a bad ninja flick it would have gotten worse! Hello, Hoshi never met them before! How would you explain HER!?" Moshi exclaimed, pointing to the blue clad Miko. "Simple!" Usagi grinned. "She's Mirai Blue Ninja Miko!" "Mirai?!" Moshi said, looking at Usagi in a totally new light. "Somehow I think you've done this before!?" Mamoru sighed. "She has, but you weren't here the first time the Red Ninja of love made the scene." "Geez, you two are made for each other!" Moshi exclaimed. "Remember the Bookcase Ninja?!" She folded her arms and eyed her older brother. "Nani?" Usagi asked. "Can we get back to the task at hand!?" Chibimo yelled, halting the frantic talking between the siblings. "He's GONE!" "NANI!!!" everyone yelled. Moshi glanced at her watch. "He should be heading home, let's go!" * * * * Hoshi whistled a tune to himself as he walked back to his apartment. He knew his father would be looking for him by now, but he couldn't withstand his father's constant questioning about Moshi. He wanted to see her, but his bruised ego just wouldn't let him. No matter how many times he picked up the phone with clear intention of contacting him, some small part refused to let him. She'd lied to him, keeping something secret from him. Of course, if HE was a masked hero bouncing around town, he might have kept it secret it too. If she'd really loved him as she said she did, wouldn't she have told him that she was Sailorearth? He rounded the corner that led to the block of his apartment complex. Glancing at his watch, he noted that he took longer than usual heading home, nearly thirty minutes. "Ne, Hoshi?" a voice said, drawing his attention. Blinking and looking clearly, Hoshi saw Moshi standing before him with that blond guy. "Moshi..." he trailed off, feeling a sudden flash of anger. "What do you want?" At the ice in his voice, Moshi involuntarily took a step back. "I wanted to see you, it's been so long." "Well, take a picture, that way you won't have to stalk me," he sneered. Jadeite balled one fist, itching to bust Hoshi in the nose. "How can you be so cruel?" Hoshi turned cold green eyes on Jadeite. "Cruel? She lied to me, not the other way around! I told her everything about myself. Even the fact my mother died while I was still young. I NEVER tell anyone about that!" Jadeite snarled and threw his left fist, connecting with Hoshi's jaw. "You fool, she kept that a secret to protect you! What if someone found out about her and used you as a tool! The less you know about that the better!" Moshi's eyes grew round with fear. Before she could intervene, Hoshi jumped to his feet and countered with a right hook, knocking the blond ex-general to the ground. Jadeite was back on his feet in an instant ready to tear the red-haired boy to pieces. "IIE!" Moshi jumped in front of Jadeite, catching Hoshi's flying fist with her stomach. Hoshi felt her small hands curl around his wrist as she collapsed at Jadeite's feet. "Moshi!" he cried, falling to his knees by her side. "Gomen, I didn't mean to--" Hoshi was cut off as he felt a hand grab him by the scruff of the neck and haul him to his feet. He turned around to see the fiery blue gaze of Mamrou on him. "Why did you hit her?" Mamoru said through gritted teeth. The dark eyebrows knitted together in anger as he lifted Hoshi onto his tiptoes. "I didn't mean to---she stepped--," Hoshi stammered, trying to twist his neck to get a view of Moshi. Mamoru looked over Hoshi's shoulder to see Jadeite gathering Moshi in his arms. He looked back at Hoshi, narrowing his eyes into dark blue slits. "You better hope it was an accident, because if it wasn't, I'll be back." With a rough shake, he released Hoshi's jacket Turning, Hoshi collapsed to his knees. The one picture would remain burning in his mind, was the sight of Moshi's large violet eyes, watery with tears, staring at him over Jadeite's shoulder as she was carried away. As the last bit of the group walked passed him, Usagi kneeled and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Before she could speak, Mamrou turned and gave her a stern look. "Usako, ikuzo," he ordered, sending a chill of ice down Hoshi's spine. "Hai," she said softly, getting to her feet. She gave Hoshi one last look of pity before continuing on. "I didn't mean to do it," Hoshi whispered to himself. * * * * Oshimai, da yo! Next Arc: Closure *** JAPANESE USED IN ARC TWENTY *** -kun,-chan,-sama -- honorifics denoting, respect and/or affection.
