Brown (tory_brown@yahoo.com) ::A r c F i v e:: Night of the Knight Chibimo and Miko were poking around the abandoned attic of their old house. The Tenchino's were finally moving into the small apartment near the Crystal Palace. Their mother's duties as the Utopia Knight often led to long hours at the palace. Chibimo didn't mind that her mother often worked late, but it was Miko who often took it hard. Their father would try for hours to calm the youngest Tenchino down. "Mi-chan, look at this," Chibimo said, ripping open one of the old cardboard boxes. It contained most of their mother's things from when she was a child. "Remember when she was wearing this fuku?" Miko asked, holding the pink garment close to her body. A few more inches and she would be able to fill the garment. Chibimo nodded, smiling. "Mama was so little back then!" She dug deeper, coming upon a small notebook. The book was blue with stenciled gold letters on the front. Miko gasped when she spotted the small blue book. She jumped up and closed the attic's door and quickly sat down next to Chibimo. "Nani? Why did you do that?!" Chibimo nearly yelled. Her younger sister at times acted as if she was insane. Miko grinned at her sister, her green eyes flashing. "Don't you know what that is?!" When Chibimo shook her head, Miko continued. "It's Mama's diary! I remember she once told me it was called the Utopia Chronicles. Chibimo's violet eyes widened. "You don't think this is it?" Miko shook her head. "It has to be it!" She snatched the book from Chibimo's hands and opened to the middle. "Oh, here is when she became a knight!" She gave Chibimo the book back. "Read, some of these words are too advanced for me!" Chibimo grimaced at her sister. "Alright..."I didn't know what to expect. I was the Utopia Knight and I had a powerful sword. What I didn't know was that Ru-chan and Haruka-san wanted to teach me how to use it..." * * * * "Ohaiyo, Midget," Mamoru said as he entered the kitchen and sat down at the table. "Ohaiyo, onii!" Moshi called out. It was her morning to cook breakfast, as usual she was creating what she called the Takanera surprise. It really wasn't much of a surprise, just some scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon. To Mamoru it was a surprise, he couldn't get over the fact his sister always cooked gaijin dishes. The best was her spaghetti dinner that usually left him full for hours. "You know, I've been thinking," Mamoru said as he folded the paper. "Now that you're a knight, you have to learn to control your sword." "Eh?" Moshi muttered as she plopped the plate before him and sat down with her own. "It should come natural to me, since I am supposed to be the knight." Mamoru shook his head. "Do you have any prior sword experience?" Moshi frowned, her dark eyebrows knitted together. "Now you of all people should know!" He held his hands up in a gesture of defense. "OK, OK, it was when you were Mosite." "I'm pretty sure I can recall the memories of the sword skill I'd learned. I was the best of her army!" She picked up a fork full of eggs and crammed them into her mouth. "Considering how you can't cook to save your life, these aren't that bad," Mamoru commented after eating a bit of eggs from his plate. "It's Japanese dishes that I can't cook. Gaijin dishes are way easy!" she said, jumping up to put her plate in the sink. "Oh man! Look at the time, Rei-chan's going to slay me!" She kissed Mamoru on the cheek and ran out to the doorway and quickly threw her shoes on. "Be home by five!" Mamoru yelled. The slamming of the front door was his only reply. "I hope she has her henshin wand..." he trailed off. Over on the counter was the white wand. "She'd lose her head if it wasn't attached!" * * * * "HAH! I beat you!" Moshi crowed as she passed Usagi on the Hikawa shrine steps. Too tired to say anything, Usagi simply blew a raspberry at Moshi. "Bzzzt! Yourself, Usagi-chan!" Moshi cried, as she ran into Rei's temple. She was looking behind at Usagi's red face and laughing as she slammed into a solid body of muscle. "OOF!" she flew backwards and landed on her butt. "Watch where you're going!" Makoto scolded, flipping her brown ponytail over her shoulder. "You almost knocked me over! Usagi laughed as she entered and removed her shoes. "That's for passing me on the stairs." Moshi stuck her tongue out at Usagi. "Oh shaddup!" Rei waved her hand to cut off the current conversation. "Never mind that, doko wa Ami-chan?" "Whoa, she's not here?" Minako asked as she entered the temple. "I never though I would see the day that Ami would be late!" "Iie, Ami-chan is sick," Makoto said. "You don't think it could be..." said Usagi, trailing off. The last she could remember time Ami being sick because of a love letter. "Ami's sick? I guess it is up to Nurse Venus!" Minako said as she stood up with her hands planted at her sides. "AHH! IIE!" Usagi screamed. She jumped up and ran out the room, her long ponytails floating on the air behind her. When Moshi looked around, Makoto, Rei and even Luna had vanished also. "Well Mo-chan, I guess it's just you and me!" Minako said, grabbing Moshi's hand and pulling her to her feet. "Nurses Venus and Earth, to the rescue! Come on Artemis!" Artemis released a yowl of protest as Minako snatched him from the ground and plopped him in Moshi's arms. "Why do I get the feeling I should have ran with Usagi?" she muttered in Artemis' ear. "Because, we both should have ran!" he growled back as Minako stuck him in the cat carrier. * * * * "Really, Mo-chan. I appreciate your concern, but I don't need help!" Ami said, holding her hands up in a defensive gesture. "It's just a simple cold, honest!" Moshi had a look of total fear on her face. The white nurse's uniform that Minako gave her was about as tight as when Chibiusa switched ages with Usagi and was still in her sailor fuku. "Taskute...." Moshi whispered as she spoon fed Ami more soup. Ami grimaced as she took the soup, she was expecting something tasteless and bland. It was actually quite good. "Wow, this isn't too bad. Minako, did you make this?" "No, Mo-chan did," Minako growled. "Uh-oh.." Artemis said in a muffled tone from the confined space of his carrier. "I gotta go. Ru-chan told me to be home soon!" Moshi said as she stood up, the side of the uniform ripped slightly, exposing her side. "Mo-chan, my uniform!" Minako howled. As if on cue, Ami's mother appeared in the doorway. "OK, you two, Ami needs her rest if she's to go to school tomorrow." She was fighting the laughter that was building in her chest. Ami's friend Moshi, who was almost as tall as Makoto, looked silly in the short dress that had a big hole on the side. "Moshi, you might want to change your clothing before you leave." "Hai, Mizuno-san," Moshi said as she bowed, allowing more of the cloth to rip. If she didn't change soon, she'd be nearly nude in front of Ami! "Uh, Mo-chan?" Ami said, her face was turning red from blush, not fever. "Ha---AHHH!" The cloth had ripped away, exposing her underwear covered backside in Ami's face. "Gomen nasai!" She grabbed her skirt and quickly pulled it on, buttoning the side buttons. Mizuno-san started to laugh, the look on Moshi's face was priceless. "Five minutes, then you have to leave." "Hai!" Moshi and Minako answered. Moshi was busily searching for her shirt. Now dressed and in her yellow blouse and purple skirt, Moshi turned to Ami. "Gomen nasai, Ami-chan. I didn't mean for that to happen." "It's OK, as long as you wasn't totally nude. I mean we are friends, just not like that," Ami said as a grin slid across her face. "Ami-chan!" Minako chastised. As they were putting on their shoes near the front door, Moshi said to Minako, "Mina-chan, next time someone is sick, leave me out of it, ne?" "What? You don't like helping our friends?" Minako asked, looking somewhat offended. Moshi waved her hands. "No, no, it's just that I'm not good with this being a nurse. It's best left in the hands of Nurse Venus. Nurse Earth is retiring!" "Well, I was hoping you wouldn't mind. After all, we don't get a chance to hang with each other much. I'm usually hanging with Rei or Usagi. You're often off with Hoshi, Mamoru or Mako-chan..." "Mina-chan...that doesn't mean we're not friends. I appreciate the fact you want to be with me. This nursing and cooking thing just isn't my specialty." "Mo-chan!" Minako said, launching herself at Moshi and wrapping her arms around her. "Let's go, Mamoru is expecting me at home soon." Moshi glanced at her watch, it was already nearing five. * * * * "OK, why did you want me home?" Moshi asked as she entered the apartment and kicking her shoes off. She looked over at the couch where Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna were sitting. "It's Usagi-chan's fault! She told me I wouldn't get in trouble!" Haruka raised one blond eyebrow. "What have you been doing?" She folded her arms and stared hard at Moshi. "Uh, nothing!" Moshi stammered, flinching back from Mamoru's advancing shadow. "We're here because we heard that you need lessons," Setsuna said quietly, folding her hand across one knee. Moshi blinked. "Lessons? In what?" She looked at Mamoru who grinned. "Oh-no, the last time I took lessons a world shaking blasted my skirt off! I had a cold for almost a week, because of a deep submerge! My ponytail got fried by a dead scream, and I'm still healing that sore spot where that rose landed!" Mamoru laughed. "This time we're giving lessons in the art of being a swordsman." "Considering it's you, I'd say swordswoman," Haruka joked, receiving an elbow jab to the side from Michiru. Mamoru instantly transformed to the guise of Tuxedo Kamen. She heard the subtle whispers of the Outers transforming. She looked around and saw the taller senshi "Oh, crap," Moshi grumbled, fishing in her pocket for her henshin wand. A floating infinity symbol entered her vision as she looked up and saw a grinning Tuxedo Kamen, holding the wand. She snatched it and held it up in the air. "Earth Infinite Power...Make up!" * * * * "Why the beach?" SuperSailor Earth asked. "Why not the beach?" SuperSailor Neptune replied, a small grin playing with her face. Earth grumbled as she walked away from the shore. "If I get hit with a deep submerge, I'm going to be REAL upset!" Pluto covered her mouth as a chuckle escaped her lips. "We're only doing this for your benefit." Earth couldn't believe it, Pluto was actually laughing. "I know I'm in for hell, especially if Pluto is laughing!" "We don't have all day!" Uranus barked. "Change to the knight and let's get started!" She brought her Space Sword from subspace and gripped it tightly. Earth sighed as she reached into subspace and retracted the Dawnbringer's handle. She held the handle up as the blade of the sword appeared and began to grow. "Knight Power...Come to me!" As she transformed, Tuxedo Kamen transformed to the armor of Prince Endymion. Pluto noted how much they truly looked alike at that moment. "This stuff is heavy!" Utopia groused, tugging at the dark purple cloak that trailed behind her. "Complain, complain. Let's get moving. Meet us up on that hill," Uranus said before disappearing with the rest of the senshi. "Now they expect me to run in this crap!," Utopia muttered as she started to run. She noticed that as she ran, the faster she was moving. It was almost as if she weighed nothing. With nimble grace, she scaled the steep cliff where the Outers and Endymion were standing. "Good, you made it," Neptune smiled. Utopia scratched her head. "What is it you need me to--AHHH!" Before she knew it, Endymion's sword came crashing into the ground beside her. She leapt back, her hand instinctively going for the handle of her own sword. "It is instinctive," Pluto murmured under her breath. A bright light flashed as she pulled the Dawnbringer from its infinity designed scabbard. "Dirty pool, Ru-chan!" "Just keeping you on your toes, onee!" Endymion said with a crooked grin. The steel of the siblings' swords clashed and clanged. For most of the fight it was Endymion who had the best of his sister. She tried to counterattack only to be met with a counterattack of his own. A few minutes later and even more sweatier, Utopia fell to the ground with a plop. "I'm...tired... argh!" She fell backward, lying flat on the grass. "Get up!" Endymion roared, poking her in the side with his sharpened blade. "I can't MOVE!" She floundered on her back like a tipped over tortoise. Endymion grimaced and helped his sister to her feet. "Now, where were we?" he asked, slashing at the front of her armor with his long sword. Utopia squealed and jumped back, her hand again going for the handle of the Dawnbringer. She pulled it above her head to block Endymion's incoming attack. She could feel his brute strength forcing the blade to press harder against her own. She grunted and pushed back with all her might. It was just too much. If she didn't move, he could surely slice through her head. She looked down and noticed that his front was completely uncovered. Utopia landed a kick in his abdomen, forcing him to drop his blade and stagger back. Endymion roared and swiped at Utopia with the flat side of his blade. Her reflexes weren't quick enough to stop the blade from connecting with her temple. Her head snapped back in shock at the blow. An array of confused looks crossed her face as she crumpled to the ground. Her hand flopped to the side, releasing the Dawnbringer's handle. Endymion's eyes grew huge. "Midget!" He rushed forward and knelt next do the limp form of Utopia. Her eyes were still open, the violet glitter was hazed over with unconsciousness. "What have I done!?" Uranus placed a hand on Endymion's shoulder. "Give her space, she'll come to on her own." "But...I just knocked her out!" Endymion countered. "Mamoru-san!" Uranus growled. "We agreed that we would make this as close to a real battle as possible." Endymion nodded and transformed back to the guise of Tuxedo Kamen. "Gomen..." "It is possible that Tuxedo Kamen is too close to the situation. After all, she is his sister," Pluto commented. Neptune nodded. "I think it is best to leave this to us." "I agree, I am too close," Kamen replied. Five minutes and an aspirin later, Uranus and Utopia started to square off. Uranus was giving her the basics in using a sword. For a while it seemed that Utopia would never fully grasp the idea of sword fighting. "Drat!" Utopia growled as she fumbled with the sword for what seemed the hundredth time that day. "Wait, something's wrong," Pluto said, walking over to Utopia. She produced a small pen and a pad of paper. "Sign this," she ordered. Utopia looked at Pluto warily. "OK..." She signed the paper and handed the pen back. Pluto studied the paper and looked at Utopia as she settled back in her seat. "Just as I suspected, you're left-handed!" Utopia nodded dumbly. "Hai." Neptune started to laugh. All the time they were practicing, Utopia was holding the sword with her right! "I-I-II don't know why I was holding it with my right," Utopia said as she stared at her hands. A look of recognition crossed her face. "Mosite was right-handed, but Takanera Moshi was born left-handed! Boy am I confused!" Pluto, who was sitting next to Neptune on a small boulder, crossed her legs as she examined the girl. "You were fighting out of instinct. When Mamoru-san attacked you, your instincts from sword fighting as Mosite resurfaced and took over." "I don't get it." Utopia scratched her dark head in confusion. She plopped to the ground and crossed her legs. Pluto sighed. "It is like riding a bike. Once you learn, you never forget. Observe." She stood up and walked forward, twirling her key shaped staff overhead. In one quick move, she brought the staff down, aiming for Utopia's head. Quickly, Utopia grabbed the Dawnbringer and held it overhead. CLANG!!! Utopia winced and opened her eyes. She had grabbed the sword with her right hand and used it to defend herself. "Oh, I see, but you didn't have to demonstrate!" Uranus was prowling in the background, her Space Sword lying next to her leg. "OK, let's finish what we started. Prepare to defend yourself!" she yelled and charged forward. "Space Sword Blaster!!!" Arcs of golden light appeared from the glowing blade. "Hey!" Utopia screamed as she bounced each arc with her own blade. "Utopia Sword Illumination! She brought her sword to her side and turned slightly, leaving an arc of golden light as if she was moving in slow motion. She placed both hands on the handle and brought it up and sliced downward. Before she could even blink, Uranus zipped out of the path of the attack and appeared behind her, applying a headlock. Frantically she clawed at Uranus' tight grip. "You're panicking, that's not a good sig--AHHH!" Uranus was cut off by the sudden shock she received. "Forgot I could do that, didn't you!" Utopia growled, giving Uranus another, but slightly less painful shock. "I never knew--yeouch!" Uranus cried as her short blonde hair stood up from its roots. "I'd say that's a nice look for Haruka. What do you think?" Neptune jokingly asked Pluto, who had a similar expression of laughter on her face. "Definitely a new look. If we spray it purple, she'd look like a punk." Pluto covered her mouth to stop the laughter that was threatening to escape. Uranus growled and brought her sword up again to strike. In an instant reflex Utopia already had hers prepared to bare the brunt of the attack. Ducking and turning, Uranus planted a fist in Utopia's side, knocking the wind from the surprised knight. "Shimatta!" Utopia wheezed as she fell to the ground. A second later a golden ball of energy ran right into her, knocking her into the grass. Uranus smirked, this was too easy. "Come on, you're suppose to be the knight?!" Her answer was one hundred splashes of energy that almost ripped her skirt to shreds. She hit Utopia with another world shaking, this time knocking the knight out. "Haruka may have went too far again," Neptune whispered. Pluto sighed, gripping her staff tightly. "When has she not?" 'I'm doing something wrong,' Utopia thought. 'Why can't I beat her!?' She mentally played back most of the battle. In each scene she noticed that she held the sword with her right hand. She wanted to kick herself. No matter what, she always grabbed the blade with her right hand. 'I have to remember, I'm Moshi NOT Mosite!' "Oh, she's coming to." Uranus gripped the Space Sword with both hands. She knew Utopia was going to explode. Using the blade as a lift, Utopia staggered to her feet. The armor that covered her side was dented. Her dark cape was ripped down the center and her infinity sign was holding on by one side of the chain. She gritted her teeth and brandished her sword with her left hand. 'She's finally learning...' "Owari da, Utopia Knight!" Uranus yelled as she charged forward. "I don't think so. Utopia Fluorescent Screen!!" She spun the sword around her, creating a blinding light. Uranus screamed and fell to her knees, her eyes were burning greatly. She couldn't see nothing as she felt a fist connect with her jaw. "My...my eyes!" This time she felt a food connect with the small of her back. Arms flailing, she pitched forward, her forehead meeting the ground. When the light cleared and she could finally see again. Utopia was standing above her with her blade at her throat. Utopia reached up and removed the infinity sign she created to protect her eyes. "Do you yield, Uranus?" Uranus sighed. "Hai." Utopia grinned and jumped into the air. "Yatta!" Uranus lifted herself up, propping herself on her elbows. "Just be happy that I let you win." The jumping knight stopped, her face crashed. "NANI!?" * * * * Nova's dark reflection stared back at her from the mirror she was gazing in. For the longest she'd mentally browbeaten herself for allowing Sailor Earth to cheat her out of her ultimate plan. She glanced at her chest, the small scratch Utopia's Dawnbringer made was a constant reminder of how close she came to dying. "I have to think of something else," she mused aloud. That Sailor Earth had too much energy. If she could harness that type of energy, she would be able to destroy that winged fool, Sailor Moon Sitting back on her dark throne, Nova contemplated her situation. For what seemed hours, the silver senshi was deep in thought. Suddenly, like a light bulb turned on, an idea struck her. "Star seeds! That's it!" She chuckled slightly.
