A few seconds later, another pair of fast-falling footsteps joined them. Minako glanced over her shoulder and saw the long dark ponytail trailing behind the girl gaining on them. "Ohaiyo, Mo-chan," Minako puffed as she moved to the left so Moshi could squeeze between them. Moshi puffed a bit before speaking. "Ohaiyo, Usagi-chan, Minako-chan." She was holding one of her white, soft-soled school shoes. She just made it in time to only put one shoe on. "I hate being late," Usagi wailed as she put on that final burst of speed. The trio huffed and puffed as they climbed the endless amount of stairs that led to their classroom. Moshi nodded. "Ru-chan threw me out the apartment with my rice bowl!" She plucked her chopsticks from her hair and stuffed them into the back of her bag. Mamoru did throw her out the apartment. It would have been comical, if Moshi hadn't landed at the bottom step with rice on her shoulders and chopsticks sticking from her hair. *BING* *BONG* "The final bell!" All three put on another burst of speed, with Moshi bring up the rear. Soon, the classroom was in sight. "Sekano-sensei's gonna be pissed!" Moshi wailed as the three skidded to a stop before 2-1's door. They tried to cram their bodies through the small doorway. Sekano-sensei was about to lock the classroom door when he heard the wailings of three of his students. "One at a time, please!" Sekano-sensei groused at the three girls. "Gomen nasai, Sekano-sensei!" they replied, speaking in perfect unison. Each girl's face was stained bright red with embarassment. He tried not to laugh at Moshi, who was holding her bookbag and one shoe. "Take your seats, we're just getting started." He waved them to their seats. "Oh and Takanera-san?" Moshi stopped and turned around. "Hai, Sekano-sensei?!" He smiled and pointed at her shoe. "School shoes are for wearing, not carrying." Moshi's face turned even more red as she slipped the second shoe on. "Gomen, gomen." After Moshi sat in her seat at the rear of the room next to Naru, and the class had stopped laughing, Sekano-sensei rapped his ruler on the edge of his desk. "Class, we have two new students with us." He glanced at his clipboard. His blue eyes widened in surprise. "This is sugoi...Makanera Toshi to Mino Ainoko" The Senshi nearly fell from their seats. Makanera Toshi!? Mino Ainako?! The names sounded a lot like... Moshi did fall from her seat when the first girl entered the room. She had long purple hair held up by a black ribbon. Her eyes was so dark, you couldn't see the pupils. Her fuku was from the same school Moshi had attended in the past, Yakamoto; the fuku was the high school version of the same pink abomination that Moshi hated for years. The second girl's appearence caused Minako to fall from her seat. The girl was the same height with the same features, but her hair was a pale blue, a few shades lighter than Ami's. Her eyes were a weird golden color. She was wearing the exact fuku of Minako's old school; Minato high. Makoto, who was a few desks away from Ami, whispered loudly. "They look exactly like Minako and Moshi!" Ami nodded, they looked like negatives. Ami's suspicions were confirmed when Usagi suddenly gasped and looked around the room, trying to see Minako and Moshi. Makoto swore she heard a noise that could be described as a muffled curse come from the back of the room. She knew Moshi was feeling just as weird, if not more weird than she was. She glanced and saw Naru with her eyes nearly bulging from her face and Moshi with her hands clamped over her mouth. "Makanera-san, Mino-san, tell the class about yourselves, onegai," Sekano said before taking his seat at the desk. The pink fuku clad girl stepped forward, her long purple hair brushing the tops of her calfs. "Watashi no namae wa Makanera Toshi. Watashino otomodachi call me To-chan, demo onii-san calls me Mijikai." Toshi was interrupted by a loud gasp from the back of the room. She waited to see who had made the noise, but when no other sound followed she continued. "My birthday is January first, my sign is Capricorn and my bloodtype is A." She stopped talking and nodded to the shorter, blue haired girl at her right. The girl nearly bounced to her toes as she spoke. "Konnichi wa! Mino Ainako-chan to iimasu! My birthday is October twenty second, my sign is Libra and my bloodtype is B!" Two loud gargles could be heard as Moshi and Minkao hit the floor. "Kami-sama," Usagi whispered as she pulled Minako back into her seat. Naru had Moshi's arm, trying to peel her away from the safe haven of the floor. Sekano-sensei shook his head as he directed the girls to their seats. Toshi was sitting next to Moshi and Ainako next to Minako. Moshi was scribbling in her notebook when Toshi sat at the desk next to her. "Konnichi-wa, senpai!" Toshi said brightly. Naru smiled and waved. "Konnichi-wa, Makanera-kun!" She nearly choked, because Toshi looked too much like Moshi. Moshi glowered at the girl before turning back to her notebook. "Konnichi-wa, Makanera-san." Toshi blinked her dark eyes, why was this girl so mean to her? "Gomen." The dark eyebrows feathered together. "Why are you apologizing?" Moshi asked, peering closer at the girl. She glanced back at Naru, who only shrugged and pulled her history book from her bag. Toshi figeted with her tie, something Moshi used to do when she wore that fuku. "You seem to be having a bad day." She snorted, was she ever right! "I don't want to be a spoilsport, but haven't you noticed how much we look alike?" Toshi's dark eyes grew wide. "Sugoi! We do look alike!" Moshi used her pencil to jab at the air with each word for added emphasis. "I went to Yakomoto a few years ago and wore the exact same fuku when I started at the junior high. You're wearing a bow, have a ponytail. Your eyes are the color of my hair and your hair is the color of my eyes." The purple haired girl was quiet for a second as she took in the information. "Gomen." Moshi almost banged her head on the desk. They may have looked similar, but she didn't have Moshi's intelligence. "You know what, Makanera-san, forget it." Toshi cocked her head to the side, something that reminded Moshi of puppy dogs. "Onamae wa nan to osshimasu ka?" She pointed at Moshi and Naru. Naru blinked before speaking. "Osaka Naru to iimasu, dozo yorishiku." She fought a shudder that slid down her back. Something was definitely odd about Toshi. "Takanera Moshi to iimasu," Moshi grumbled. "Shimatta..." Naru caught the curse word and mumbled, "Mo-chan..." "Oh, sugoi! Your name is like mine! Takanera Moshi, Makanera Toshi!" 'Oh, she's a bright one," Moshi whispered to Naru as she pulled out her history book. Sekano-sensei had left and Hinruoji-sensei, their history teacher, walked in. She was shocked to learn that Toshi had finally shut up. She peered over the edge of her book and noticed that Toshi was looking across the room, her black eyes glittering with stars that Moshi knew too well. It was the same stars that entered her own eyes when seeing Hoshi for the first time. Stars of love. She was staring at Makoto. She even had her hands clasped at her heart. "Kami-sama, Mako-chan's gonna hate this," Moshi grumbled before slamming her forehead onto the desk. Soon, another thud was heard. That was Naru's hand going to her own forehead in disbelief. * * * * After school, the girls met at Fruit parlor crown for their usual; shakes, soda and gossip. They had almost forgotten about the new girls from their school, that is, until Toshi and Ainako walked in giggling. "Kami-sama," Rei whispered loudly. "They look like Minako-chan and Mo-chan." Moshi, who was sitting next to Usagi, sat in strained silence as she slowly turned her head to the direction Rei was gawking. Sure enough, Toshi and her blue haired sidekick, Ainako, were at the counter ordering something. Poor Unazaki, she thought Minako and Moshi had decided to change their hair color. It took Toshi introducing herself for Unazaki to figure it out. "Gomen," Unazaki apologized as she directed them to a seat. "You look so much like my friends, Minako and Moshi, I thought you were them!" Ainako turned her nose up. "I'm tired of people telling us that! I think I'm much more prettier than that Aino-kun!" Unazaki almost did a double take. "Better not let Minako-chan hear you say that." She walked off to get their order. Toshi frowned and swatted Ainako on the arm. "Don't say things like that! You want us to get in trouble?!" "Oh please, To-chan! You're always worrying," Ainako said as she flipped her hair over her shoulder. "No one is going to learn anything." Toshi glanced around before whispering. "I still say it was a bad idea to look like *them*!" Ainako only made a rasberry and folded her arms. "Whatever. Hey, Toshi, the love of your life is over there!" She pointed at the table where the six girls were sitting. Toshi could feel her heart flutter. "Makoto-sama!?" She looked around and spotted the tall brunette talking to the girl she looked like. Frowning, she stood up. "Hey, what the hell are you doing?!" Ainako asked, shocked. "I'm going to pay our senpais a visit," Toshi said as she removed her fuku jacket. Ainako groused to herself. "Aw hell, here we go!" Toshi placed a false grin on her face as she walked to the booth. "Takanera-kun! Konnichi-wa!!" Moshi froze, a french fry hanging from her mouth. "Oh no, it's her!" She sunk in the booth trying to hide herself behind Makoto, no small chore since they were both nearly the same size. Makoto squealed as Moshi tried to push her way behind her. "What are you doing!?" "Don't look now, but your friend is coming this way," Moshi whispered. She didn't have a chance to tell Makoto about Toshi's 'feelings' Minako's own face was as terror stricken as Moshi's. She'd tried burrowing her way behind Moshi, only to succeed in bring pushed back. "Not her again!" she wailed. Rei could see the starry expression in the girl's eyes as she spoke. "I don't think we've met. Atashi Makanera Toshi!" Rei looked at Toshi and then at Moshi and back at Toshi. "Kami-sama." Toshi waved her hand and tittered, "I know, Moshi looks like me." A curse escaped Moshi's lips as she sat ramrod straight. "I look like *you*? You look like me, you little bi--arhgh!" Makoto had a hand clamped firmly across Moshi's face. Her cheeks were turning bright red with anger as Makoto pressed harder to prevent her from making an even bigger scene. Usagi didn't like the look plastered on Toshi's face when she made the comment. In fact, the moment the two walked into 2-1, she had a funny feeling about them. "Konnichi wa, Atashi Tsukino Usagi." Toshi's dark eyes seemed to glittered as she turned her gaze on Usagi. "Oh, I know you Tsukino-kun..." Usagi and Ami pressed backwards into the booth. Ami muttered so that only Usagi could hear. "She sounds like Mosite..." Usagi only nodded in return. Rei held her hand out to Toshi as she stood up. "Watashi no namae wa Hino Rei-chan." Toshi plastered a smile on her face as she gripped Rei's hand. Rei noted that it was colder than ice. "Makanera Toshi to iimasu!" Rei fought the shudder that was skittering down her spine. She could sense that Toshi wasn't who she said she was. Toshi turned her black iced gaze onto Makoto. The second she did, Moshi could see her features soften and a small slash of red decorated each cheek. "Konnichi wa, Kino-sama." A gurgle escaped Moshi and Minako's mouth as they stared at Toshi and then at Makoto. Makoto's green eyes grew large. "Sama?! Nani?" Toshi reached into her pocket and pulled out a small envelope that had a sticker in the shape of a heart on it. "This...is for you, Kino-sama." The letter fluttered from her grasp and landed on the table in front of Makoto. Makoto's features twisted into a mask of confusion and fear. "That's nice--" Moshi cut her off by grabbing the letter and flinging it back at Toshi. "Mako-chan's not like *that*!" Toshi frowned and put the letter in Makoto's hand. "Or are you just jealous!?" The girls gasped as everyone stared at Moshi. Moshi and Makoto's faces turned bright red. "Nani!? I have a boyfriend!" "I had a boyfriend for years, before I found out," Toshi replied with a smug grin. Makoto looked at Moshi, who seemed ready to whop Toshi into next week. "Sa, if it means that much, I'll read it." Toshi's eyes softened again. "Arigato!" The entire table was silent as Toshi waved daintly at Makoto while being dragged away by Ainako. Ami was the first to break the strained silence. "I wonder if that's why Makoto is Moshi's best friend." Moshi growled and look at Ami. "Ami-chan, what the hell are you saying?!" Ami turned red, she'd stuck her foot in her mouth again. "Nothing! Never mind!" Makoto had opened the envelope and gasped, it *was* a love letter. Toshi had poured her entire feelings into the letter. The words were so similar to the ones she had wrote to her senpai so long ago. Moshi was peering over her shoulder, reading each word. "I thought she was kidding!" She looked up at Makoto. "She is in love with you!" "I wouldn't say love, but a crush," Rei said with a cattish expression. "Rei-chan's just jealous that someone doesn't have a crush on her!" Usagi said with a sly look. Before Rei could bite back with a comment, Minako added. "Except for Chibimo." Rei's face turned red before she closed her mouth with an audible snap. "That's different!" Rei grumbled before sipping at her shake. "I have to let her down easy. I can't have her walking around with these feelings for me and not know they're unrequited!" Makoto said as she put the letter back in the envelope. "I know you wanted to be a woman like Haruka-san, but don't you think this is a bit much?" Moshi said. A dark silence fell on the table as Moshi looked around. Makoto grabbed her bento and whacked Moshi with it. "Itai!" Ami laughed nervously. "I understand." She shrunk back when she saw the dark look on Makoto's face. "But we all know Mako-chan isn't like that!" Makoto stood from the booth and walked over to Toshi's table. Minako had hid a grin behind her hand when Moshi was whacked with the bento. Moshi, whose head was still throbbing, grimaced at Minako. "Now I know why you didn't want me to get a bento box! ITAI!" * * * * Toshi felt as if someone ripped her heart out and stomped on it before her very eyes. Makoto-sama had turned her down! She couldn't help the feelings that were surging within whenever she looked at the tall brunette with the deep green eyes. Tears fell from her dark eyes as Ainako patted her on her back. "I told you not to do it," Ainako chastised as if Toshi was a small child. Toshi gulped before speaking. "I just had to know, though!" She pulled a small hanky from her fuku pocket and dabbed at her leaky eyes. "Do you know what we're supposed to do?" Ainako asked, changing subjects. Toshi shook her head, her long ponytail swishing. "All I know is we're supposed to wait. That's what Perenity told me." They were waiting at the bus stop for the number 77 bus. A yellow car zoomed past and backed up. "Oi, Mo-chan!" the blonde driving had yelled. Toshi and Ainako looked up. "He looks like Taruka, ne?" Ainako nodded. "Sorry, I think you've got the wrong, girl. This is Toshi." Haruka peered closer, the girl's hair was dark, but purple. "Ah, gomen!" She pulled off, leaving the two girls confused. "See, I said this was a bad idea!" Toshi groused as the bus pulled up at the curb. "Fuss, fuss, fuss!" Ainako mumbled as she pushed Toshi onto the bus. The two girls rode the bus to the interchange for the number 6; the Hikawa Jinja bus. "Say, doesn't that Rei-chan live there?" Ainako had asked as they paid their fare. Toshi nodded. "I believe so. * * * * Titanium was kneeling before a very irate Nova. "I'm sorry, Nova-sama." Nova growled, she wondered if getting titanium back was a bad idea. "It's not like you haven't failed before!" The metal Senshi flinched, as if preparing for a blow to follow. "She tried a new attack on me. A Silver Earth meditation attack, it was much stronger than the Silver Moon attack." Nova clenched her gauntlet covered hand into a fist. "The same attack she tried to use on my sister. I'm not strong enough yet, Ani. I need more Starseeds -- Senshi Starseeds. I want the one that belongs to that Earth wannabe!" Titanium nodded. "I'll make sure to attack her alone, so that she can't combine her power with another." "You do that," Nova said as she sat back in her throne. Time was running out for her, she could feel it. If Titanium could get a true Starseed, then she would be able to compelete her mission of destroying her ultimate target; Eternal Sailormoon. * * * * Toshi removed her fuku jacket as she hefted her handbag over her shoulder. Ainako was right; she shouldn't have expected Makoto to openly accept her and want her as a girlfriend. What could she do? She couldn't force Makoto to like her. "We would have been so good together," she muttered softly as she turned the corner and headed to her apartment. She didn't live too far from the Jinja. She could even see Moshi and Makoto head up the long stairway. Spotting Makoto, she decided against going home that minute. She walked down the block that would lead to the stairway. "I have you now, Moshi!" a voice cried out. Toshi dropped her bookbag and jacket, glancing around frantically. "Perenity? Is that you?" "You know who I am, Moshi!" The metal clad form of a woman appeared before her. In her hand was a staff with a pronged tip. "Give me your Starseed!" "Starseed? Nani?!" Toshi asked. She didn't wait for an answer when she saw the two bracelets start to glow. She turned and tried to run, when two disks of light slammed into her body. Hundreds of volts surged through her body, knocking her to the ground. Titanium grinned, she would finally get the Starseed that Nova wanted so much. The girl was still screaming, fighting the shock. The girl fell to the ground, her clothing smoking. Titanium could feel a frown forming. Something was wrong. She had no Starseed. "That's impossible!" Titanium yelled. "Everyone has a Starseed. You're not human!" Toshi slowly stood up, the tattered sleeves of her shirt hung in shreds around her arms. "Of course," she replied sweetly. Her dark eyes glittered with anger as she charged towards the shocked Senshi. "NANI!?" Titanium yelled as Toshi's body connected with her, knocking her backwards. Her energy spent, Toshi fell to the ground. "Ai to seigi no, Seera fu bishoujo Senshi. Seera Muun!" a voice called. Toshi looked up and saw the winged form of Sailor Moon. "To, Seera tiimu!" another Senshi said. Looking around, Toshi saw six of them. "Sailor Moon, taskute!" Crystal tears poured from her eyes, creating rivers on her flushed cheeks. Toshi waited until the Senshi were busy battling with the metal woman. She stood to her feet, grabbed her jacket and bookbag and ran home. "I finally found out who the Senshi are," she cackled to herself. She couldn't do nothing just yet, but when it came time, Sailor Earth would be her first victim. * * * * Sailor Jupiter performed her Sparkling pressure attack. The disc of thunder sliced through the breastplate of titanium's armor, forcing her to groan and collapse. "Seera Muun, imayo!" Jupiter ordered. Moon nodded. The eternal tier appeared in her hands, the red crystal glowing brightly. "This time, I will save you," she promised as she powered up for her attack. "Silver Moon, Crystal Power Kiss!" She swung the tier over hear head, creating a crescent moon-shaped arc of energy. Titanium screamed as she felt the light encase her being, ripping the bracelets from her arms. She gave one last yell of, "Beautiful!" before passing out. On her forehead the small flower appeared, wrapping her lost Starseed back into its petals. "Yatta!" Moon cried as Earth raced over to the fallen woman. * * * * Nova screamed when she saw the grey Starseed vanish from her hand. Titanium had been rescued, now she was powerless again. "Damn them. DAMN THEM!" She howled at the top of her lungs, thrashing her throne room. Now she had nobody, no one to work for her. She knew this time was coming, she'd hoped that she'd been prepared for it. "It's time for me to show those twits, just how pissed I really am," Nova cackled. Oshimai, da yo!
