Chapter 20: A new foe

Earth..blah blah belongs to me..yaddah yaddah...just don't use her without
my permission...not that anyone wants to anyway... Moshi is rarely in
this chapter...hmmm
"I will .Ooof...aaack geet offffff!" Usagi choked, Moshi had wrapped
her hands almost around her throat. A evil look of glee crossed Moshi's
face as she started to shake Usagi back and forth. Hair, both blond and
black, whipped about in the air as the two girls stuggled.
"Stop her before something really ugly happens!" Luna cried out. She
ran over and sunk her teeth into Moshi's calf.
"OWWWEEEEEEEE!!!!" Moshi screamed in Usagi's ear. Reaching behind in
a reflex action she pushed Luna off her leg.
Standing up she brushed her skirt off. "Ever since I joined this
team, I've always felt like an outsider...simply because I wasn't
here when the team was founded. now I know that you don't consider me to
be a 'real' senshi. Usagi said so herself!" Her fist was clinched at her
side. She struggled to keep the tears from falling.
Makoto looked up from her seat. "How can you say that? Usagi was just
upset. No one believes that crap!" She felt a stab of guilt as Moshi
turned her flushed face towards her.
"I just feel my welcome is worn out." Grabbing her bookbag
and putting her shoes on. Moshi left Hikawa Jinja and headed home.
Makoto blinked. "I never knew she felt like that...."
Usagi sniffed as she rubbed her throat. "I didn't know she'd take it
THAT way!"
Ami sighed, pushing her dark blue locks away from her face.
"Usagi-chan, you may have never known it, but Moshi has always felt that
she wasn't a real senshi."
Minako agreed. "She's even told me herself. She feels that she's
just second class."
Rei sighed and shook her head. "Usagi-chan..one who never
thinks."
Usagi's face screwed up in hurt. "It's always my fault...."
"What's your fault?" a voice said from the outside. The sliding door
opened and entered a tall woman with short hair. Behind her another
woman, shorter with aqua colored hair followed.
"Haruka-san, Usagi..well is being Usagi," Minako said as she
facefaulted.
Usagi shook her head. "It's my fault Moshi-chan is gone
Haruka-san...my fault..."
"Moshi-chan left? What do you mean?" Michiru asked as her aqua
eyebrows knitted with worry.
Ami sighed as she removed her glasses and closed her book.
"Moshi-chan, being too serious, took what Usagi said too personal and
left."
Makoto added, "This is too bad of a time for the team to be split
apart like this!"
Several heads of different colors nodded in agreement.
* * * *
Nova cackled, rubbing her hands together as if she was about to
partake in a large meal. "Brimstone!" she barked, her semi elongaged
canine teeth glowing in the chamber lights.
A red figure slowly appeared, followed by an increasing feeling of
heat.
Nova hissed. "Stop it with the fire..you're making me hot!"
Brimstone blushed, if she could blush seeing she was mostly red.
"Gomen nasai Nova-sama...I won't do it again!" Brimstone was dressed in
the traditional like fuku of most Senshi. Except her fuku was totally
red, even her hair was fireball red. The only other color on her was gold
and that was her tiara.
Nova fanned her face, damn Brimstone, always causing a heatwave.
"Seeing you posses a talent for fire, I think it's time you have a little
fun with the Shinto priestess, the one called Sailor Mars."
Brimstone smirked, finally a chance to channel all her power! "Hai,
whatever you need me to do Nova-sama!"
Nova smiled to herself, unlike Titanium, Brimstone was all too
willing to be able to help. She liked this girl, she was spunky like her
in a way. "One more question, why don't you wear armor like the rest?"
Brimstone turned circles with her foot on the floor. "Well Nova-sama,
armor makes me hot!"
"Hey wait a minute!" a snipish voice called out. A bright golden
light appeared and a second woman dressed in a golden metallic armor suit
appeared. She flipped her almost white hair over one shoulder. "I don't
believe it's fair that she gets to have fun. Titan had fun, now her..when
is it my turn. I want a chance at that Venus twit!"
Shaking her head, Nova nearly groaned. "Alright, you want to go play
with Venus go play then. Don't drag your sorry butt back here whining
about your hair!"
Adonia giggled and twirled, her white hair fanning out. "I thank you
Nova-sama!"
Nova removed her helmet and released her hair from the ponytail. The
crown of her hair was pure silver, the rest was dark hair that tumbled
down over her shoulders like black rain water. "I want you Adonia to go
play with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto first. Those three are incredibly
strong and I want you to get rid of them!"
Adonia stuck her finger up at Brimstone. "Hai Nova-sama!"
Brimstone grabbed a lock of Adonia's hair and growled, "You
bitch.."
"Oh be gone all of you!" Nova said, with a wave of her hand the two
dueling senshi vanished.
* * * *
Rei sighed and looked at her watch, soon the rest should be here.
She flopped down on the bench, her short skirt of her school fuku fanned
out around her legs. The birds did their regular routine of singing as
they flew to and fro. The sun peered down on Rei, showing off the deep
purple highlights of her dark hair. Throwing her arms behind her head,
Rei closed her eyes and leaned back, today was such a beautiful day.
Brimstone spotted Rei sitting on the bench with her eyes closed. "The
little wench has no idea what's about to happen."
A tingling sensation caused Rei to sit straight up, her dark eyebrows
came together in almost a line. ' Nani...' she thought as she
looked around, the tingling sensation was growing with each passing
second.
Brimstone, seized her chance and created a large ball of fire and
stone. "Fire and Brimstone!!!" The ball of fire careened towards a stunned
Rei. With a loud yelp she dived and rolled away from the bench.
"Nani kore!" she yelled as she pulled her henshin stick out her book
bag. As she held it into the air the golden signia of Mars twinkled in
the sunlight. "Mars Crystal Power...Make up!!!" SuperSailor Mars looked
around, wondering where that blast came from. She noticed that it was
also a blast of flame. Storing that in her memory, she spotted Makoto
rushing over, armed with her henshin stick.
"Sailor Mars! Daijoubu!!" she nearly yelled. She was on her way here
when she spotted the large blast head over towards Rei. Makoto, taking no
chances held her henshin stick up. "Jupiter Crystal Power...Make up!!!"
From Jupiter's tiara her thunder rod appeared. It grew up past her head
and started to flash as her powers roared throughout her body.
"Sailor Mars, what happened?!" She asked as she surveyed the area,
taking in the damage that was caused by the flame. 'Whoever sent that
blast is pretty strong..' she thought as she turned to face Sailor
Mars.
Mars blinked, "I have no idea, I was sitting here waiting. I then
felt an intense heat..then that blast of flame appeared!"
Brimstone appeared before them, bringing that same intense heat Mars
felt before. "It was my flame that almost hit you.." she nearly chuckled
as she took small steps toward the senshi. "Atashi Brimstone. The Senshi
of fire and stone!"
Jupiter snorted, her rod starting to flash faster. "I am the senshi
of protection, SuperSailor Jupiter. Try out this for size!
Supreme...Thunder!!!"
Brimstone screamed as Jupiter's thunder attack crashed into her
stomach, flying her backwards into the small pond. A loud hissing noise
could be heard as her fiery body plunged into the cool depths of the
pond. As the steam started to condence and fade, a figure stalked from
inside the cloud back into view. Brimstone's hair had gone out, leaving
her totally bald. "My hair!!" She wailed as she patted her bald scalp.
Sailor Mars snickered as she pulled out an ofuda. "You should try a
better hair dresser! Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, retsu, sai, zen.
Akuryou taisan!!!!!" She charged forward and slapped the ofuda directly
on Brimstone's forehead. Brimstone wailed loudly as she was suddenly
frozen in place.
"What is this..I can't move!!" She yelped as she struggled to move,
it seemed her body refused to obey her as it stood still, trapped under
the power of the ofuda.
Sailor Jupiter smirked at Sailor Mars. "Let's finish her!"
Mars nodded, "Hai!"
Brimstone wheezed. "Iie..onegai. I won't attack you again I
promise..please DONT KILL ME!!!"
Two hands flew out to the side as their respected planet symbols
appeared in their palms. Each symbol was consumed by the source of their
power.
"Mars Flame..."
"Jupiter Oak..."
"SNIPER!!!!"
"EVOLUTION!!!!"
The large arrow of flame flew towards it's destination, Brimstone's
heart. Brimstone screamed in pain as the arrow pierced through her fuku,
passing through her heart. A second later large green leaves sliced at
her skin, like a thousand paper cuts. In a burst of flame, Brimstone was
no more. The only remnants that were left was scraps of her red fuku and
a golden tiara that suddenly dulled to a plain grey.
Jupiter high fived Mars and yelled, "Yatta!!"
* * * *
Setsuna shook her head, causing her green hair to fly about her
shoulders. This action caught Michiru's attention which caused her to
push her shake aside for the moment.
"Something's wrong Setsuna?" she asked calmly, taking another sip
from her shake.
Setsuna blinked and replied, "I just had..an odd feeling, that's
all."
"Hai.." Haruka said as she stirred her soda with a straw. "I've been
getting the same sensation myself.."
Setsuna sipped a little bit on her green tea. "Things started to feel
funny after you told me about what happened with Moshi."
"Speaking of which, have anyone seen her as of late?" Michiru asked
after she wiped her hands with her napkin.
Haruka shook her head, her short blond hair flying out and settling
again. "Iie, I haven't seen her since that day."
As if on cue the bell on the door to the parlor rang as a new
customer entered. Michiru looked up and noticed the small girl with the
long black ponytail, held up by a purple bow. She was dressed in the fuku
of Juuban high. She knew only one girl who had her hair like that, Moshi.
"Haruka, speak of the Moshi..there she is.."
Haruka looked over, sure enough there was Moshi ordering a large
cone. Her violet eyes flashed with greed as she held the cone and started
to consume it.
'I just love ice cream!' Moshi thought as she proceded to
gobble the cone down. She felt eyes on her, was she being a pig again?
She looked up and spotted the Outers sitting at a table near the window.
Careful not to gobble greedily, she walked over to their table. "Konnichi
wa Minna-san!"
Michiru smiled. "Konnichi wa Moshi-chan, genki desu ka?"
Moshi smiled back. "Genki desu!"
Setsuna smiled as she scooted over to make a place for Moshi. Moshi
sat her bookbag down and scooted into the booth.
"Sa, what have you been up to Moshi?" Setsuna asked, as she stirred
her tea.
Moshi wiped her mouth. "um...well..I've been just going to school and
stuff." She blinked nervously.
Haruka put her straw down. "I think what Setsuna is trying to ask,
have you talked with your friends lately?"
Michiru placed one hand on Haruka's arm. "Haruka, stop, you're
scaring her." She then turned to Moshi and said, "I believe what Haruka
wants to know is how come you haven't talked to the inners lately?"
Moshi's eyes widened, it had been almost six days since she left
Hikawa Jinja. "Iie.." she replied softly, lowering her eyes to the
table.
Michiru said, "I'm sure Usagi meant nothing by what she said. The
last few months was stress on us all."
A pair of violet eyes flashed in anger. "Stress? you want to talk
about stress.." She stopped for a moment to finish the cone. "At least you
haven't lost nearly two years of your life!"
Michiru retorted, "It's all relevant, stress has affected us all."
She didn't raise her voice, she stated it as a matter of factly.
Moshi balled her napkin up in her hand. "So I guess I'm suppose to go
crawling back to Usagi and the rest, begging to be friends again?! She
made it pretty clear how she felt!" She then folded her arms and mimicked,
"if you're so concerned about the Earth, You take care of it. You are
Sailor Earth..not me. Oh wait I forgot, you're not the 'real' Sailor
Earth, just some stand in so that Mamo-chan doesn't have to wear a fuku."
Haruka looked up, she really did sound like Usagi.
"Now if you excuse me, I have lots of homework to do," Moshi said as
she stood up and grabbed her bookbag. She flung her napkin into the trash
and stalked out the shop, jerking hard on the door the bell rang a sharp
sound as she tried to slam the door behind her.
"Moshi-chan wait!" Michiru called as she scrambled to her feet and
raced out the shop. Soon Haruka and Setsuna followed. Moshi hadn't been
gone for 20 seconds, but she was nowhere to be found on the street.
"She moves fast.." Haruka noted.
"Well it's not her I'm concerned about anyway!" Adonia said as she
came into the outers' view. "I am the senshi of armored love and
beauty..Sailor Adonia!"
Setsuna reared back. "I knew something was up!"
Haruka nodded. "It's back to fighting again. Uranus Crystal Power
Make up!!
"Neptune Crystal Power...Make up!!"
"Pluto Crystal Power...Make up!!"
While Sailor Pluto was in mid henshin, Adonia swiped her staff at
her, sending a golden ball of energy towards Pluto.
"Deep!" Neptune yelled as a ball of water shaped like the
planet Saturn appeared between her hands. "Submerging!!!" She pushed
the water out towards Adonia, engulfing her as if she fell into the
ocean
"My hair!" Adonia cried as she wrung her hair between her armored
hands. "Look at this my armor is going to rust!"
SuperSailor Uranus held her hand into the air, a bright light
twinkled in her palm as she grabbed it. "World.." She spun around as the
wind in her hand grew stronger. She slammed her fist into the ground
releasing the power. "Shaking!!!"
Adonia screamed as the energetic wind slammed into her side, sending
her sprawling.
"Dead...Scream" Pluto whispered as she twirled her garnet orb
decorated staff. Lavender energy appeared and crashed into Adonia,
knocking her senseless.
Uranus grapped Adonia by the front of her armor, she proceded to slap
her in the face, trying to arouse her. "Who are you working for!" She
demanded.
Adonia's eyes fluttered. "I....I..."
Uranus snarled as she jerked harder on Adonia. "Answer me dammit! Who
do you work for!!" When Adonia refused to answer she reared back and
slapped Adonia harder.
Adonia cried out. "NOVA-SAMA!!!!!" A bright silver light enveloped
Adonia and Uranus. Sailor Uranus dropped the armored senshi and jumped
back. Adonia stuck her middle finger up as she slowly melted into the
ground, vanishing.
Sailor Uranus pushed her short bangs back. "What the hell was that
all about?"
Neptune shrugged. "I have no idea.."
Pluto sighed. "We have to warn the inners, if they haven't already
been attacked."
* * * *
"Nani, you were attacked today?!" Usagi rubbed her hands together, as
if trying to rub away the anguish she was feeling.
"Hai, we both were," Makoto said, casting her green eyes downward to
Usagi's face.
Usagi sighed as she closed her eyes. "It has started again hasn't it.
Something nagged at me this morning. I tried to ignore it, but it
constantly gnawed at my insides."
Ami closed her book and focused on the conversation. "Who attacked
you?"
"It was some nutso senshi, Sailor Brimstone," Makoto replied.
Minako interuppted. "Did you see Moshi?!"
Makoto lowered her eyes as she shook her head in denial. "No, I
haven't seen her since class.."
"Yeah, it seems like she just vanished." Rei finished as she sat down
at the table.
A knock at the door stopped everyone's thoughts. Rei stood up and
answered the door, outside was a worried Mamoru. He walked in lowering
his head so that it wouldn't bump against the doorframe. "Minna, have you
seen Moshi. I haven't seen her in days."
"Mamo-chan.." Usagi whispered. "We haven't seen Moshi for a while
either..."
"After what happened those few days ago, I'm pretty sure Moshi won't
be around here," Minako added as she stood up preparing to leave. "I have
to go, I promised my parents I'd be home early."
Mamoru looked for answers. "Can anyone tell me what happened?"
"Well.." Luna started as she settled on the desk top. "Usagi made a
comment about her being Sailor Earth. To which Moshi took too personal
and left."
"I believe it was more to the point of her being a stand in for
Mamoru-san, so that he won't have to wear a fuku." Artemis settled himself
on Minako's shoulder.
"As much as I'd hate to say this, it's almost like she never returned
from the future..." Ami said quietly.
* * * *
Nova snarled as she heaved Adonia against the wall. "you WHAT?!"
Adonia's limp figure slid down the wall, landing in a puddle at the
base of the wall. "Gomen nasai, Nova-sama...I..AAAAHHHH!!!" she screamed
as Nova released another silver attack against her.
"Baka! Brimstone is dead, you didn't get rid of the outers..What am I
to do with you all!!" Nova threw her hands up in the air as a gesture of
defeat. She stalked back to her dark marble throne and plopped down onto
it.
Adonia crawled over on her knees. "Forgive me Nova-sama. I didn't do
what you asked of me..AHHHHH!" Nova simply slapped her again and threw her
against the other wall.
Titanium shimmered into view. "I see Adonia goofed again. At least I
did what you asked of me. Perhaps I can do Adonia's task myself?"
Nova grinned a evil toothy grin. "Well Titanium, it seems you have
more spunk than I believed before."
Adonia gasped from her position on the floor. "More than me!?"
Nova frowned, "shut up!" She shot another silver flash at Adonia,
knocking her out. "Let's put it like this. Titanium if you can destroy
the outers, I'll make you captain!"
Titanium's steel gray eyes lit up with excitement. "Hai Nova-sama,
count on me!" In a flash of gray she vanished as fast as she appeared.
Nova walked from her throne and stood over the prone form of Adonia.
"What to do with you?...."
