Chapter 5: Earthly Illusions

     Moshi coughed as a huge glob of blood made it's way out her nose, she
could feel herself slowly choking to death.  'Isn't this great,' she
thought.  'I'm going to choke to death instead of bleeding to death.'
 Struggling, she pushed herself into a sitting position, wincing at
the large flames of pain that engulfed her entire being. Glancing down she
could see bits of bone and flesh littering her now pink and dark red skirt.  
She moaned and laid her head back, feeling somewhat more comfortable. The
pain seemed to be a bit bearable now that she was sitting up.

     "Gaia, I'm sorry that I failed you!" She screamed at the sky. "I was
your last warrior, the one you had hope for and I failed."  Silver tears
ran down her flushed cheeks like crystal rivers.  Without causing much
pain, Moshi held her head down and sobbed.

     A warm voice reached her ears. "My dear Moshi, you never failed me.
It was I who failed you.  I wasn't there for you in your time of need."
Moshi gasped, it was Gaia, she finally got in contact with Gaia!

     The ground beneath her begin to glow a warm light, the light infused
with Moshi and she felt relief.  'Maybe this it, death is coming to
claim me,' she thought, closing her eyes she felt herself sink slowly
into the Earth.  Opening her eyes she saw that she was floating high above
the Earth wearing nothing but her henshin star brooch, she wrapped her
arms around her body as she saw Gaia emerging from a cloud.

     "Moshi," Gaia started, smiling a warm smile. "as I said before you
didn't fail me, none of you did." She turned and before her appeared
Sailor Aqua, Breeze and Flame.  Moshi began to cry when she saw her old
friends.

     "Moshi, don't cry.  We're here with Gaia now!" Sailor Aqua said
turning to face Sailor Flame. Her dark hair flew about her face as she
shook her head furiously.

     "Moshi, never give up.  You never did with us, why start now!" Sailor
Flame said putting her arm over Sailor Aqua and Breeze's shoulders.

     "I know you can overcome this, we've had meaner battles than this!"
Sailor Breeze finished.

     "I just cant! Look at me!" Moshi screamed pointing at the jagged
wound on her side. "I'm as good as dead!" She tugged at her hair until it
fell around her shoulders in obsidian waves.

     Gaia held out her hand.  Unsure of what was happening Moshi took her
hand.  Looking down Moshi saw she was wearing a plain purple dress with a
large bow in the back, much similar to the gown that Gaia was wearing.
Her long dark hair was back in it's Odangos.  In a flash the senshi and
Gaia was standing in the room of the old Earth palace.

     "Moshi, give me your henshin star," Gaia said, holding one slim hand
out. Moshi removed the star and placed it in Gaia's hand.  Gaia tapped
the infinity sign on the star and it popped open revealing the tan stone
from the necklace.  She turned to the Senshi there and said "You know what
you must do." Gaia then gave the star to Sailor Flame who nodded.

     Sailor Flame's tiara faded and the small flame symbol appeared on her
forehead.  She gazed at the star and whispered, "Flame Planet Power." A
reddish beam connected Sailor Flame's forehead and the star as she passed
her life energy into the star.  When she finished her tiara appeared and
she gave the star to Sailor Aqua.

     Sailor Aqua smiled at Moshi.  Turning her gaze to the star she
whispered, "Aqua Planet Power"  A deep marine blue light connected with
the star as the wave symbol appeared on Aqua's forehead.  Once finished
she passed the star to Sailor Breeze.

     "This is for the Earth," Sailor Breeze said as the tornado symbol
appeared on her forehead and the pale blue light appeared and connected
with the star.  When she finished she gave the star to Gaia, who nodded
with approval.

     She handed Moshi her star. "Before you leave from here Moshi, I have
two gifts to give you." Moshi's infinity sign started to shine brightly.
The light expanded engulfing Gaia and Moshi.  "You see Moshi, your power
is still strong, just believe in yourself and the Sailor Elementals will
be with you always." Moshi looked up into Gaia's face as Gaia placed a
hand over her heart.

     "I give you the power to heal and absorb."  Moshi gasped as she felt
power course through her body.  Gaia began to fade from her vision as she
heard the voices of the four people she cared about. She awoke, feeling
the cold chill of the air as it hit the open wound on her side.

     "I....must....heal...myself," she gasped.  Placing her hands on the
wound she whispered, "Earth..Healing"  Her infinity sign glowed brightly
as a beam emerged and connected with the wound slowly closing it until it
was as if she never had been hurt.  Feeling a bit dizzy, Moshi slowly made
her way home. Upon reaching her front door, she weakly knocked.  Takanera
Miko opened the door, her eyes red from crying.  Seeing her daughter
standing before her she embraced her and pulled her inside.

     "Oh Mo where have you been!?" Miko cried as she planted kisses over
Moshi's feverish cheeks.

     "I um..I got sick in class and passed out along the way.  I'm fine
now Okaasan, I'm fine.  I would just like to lay down for a second or so."
Her mother led her to her bedroom and laid her on the bed.

     For the next two days Moshi was confined to her bed, even though she
healed herself, she was drained from the energy she used in healing.
Sitting in her purple pajamas in her room she carefully thought about how
to get back at the mimic.

     "I don't know Rei-chan, something is wrong with that girl, she's been
acting funny after we ran into that copycat." Makoto hissed, pointing at
the girl who was staring into the fire.

     "I know you'd think that wasn't her or something," Minako supplied.

     "She acts as if she never been here before," Usagi said, keeping her
hand on Chibiusa's shoulder.  Usagi knew something was wrong when Moshi
tried to bite Chibiusa for touching her ponytail!

     "I have a baaad feeling, I think we attacked the wrong Moshi!" Ami
said.

     "Hai, I think so too Ami-chan," Rei said.

     In a sudden move the copycat said, "I have to go now" She gazed at
them blankly and hurried out the door.  Makoto ran to the door to see
where she went, but the girl was gone.

     "Coming, coming, don't knock so hard!" Miko said as she hurried to
open the door, someone was banging on the door as if they lost their mind!
She opened the door to a smiling Usagi.

     "Ohaiyo, Takanera-san! is Moshi home?" Usagi asked, turning her smile
up a few more wattage.

     "Yes she is, she hasn't been feeling good, You're Usagi right? from
her class?"

     "Hai, watashi no namae wa Tsukino Usagi!"

     Miko let Usagi in and pointed her to Moshi's room.  Usagi knocked
softly on the door and Moshi said, "Come in".  Moshi smiled when she saw
Usagi enter the room.

     "Usagi-chan! I'm so glad you came, we really need to talk about
what's happening!" she said as she gripped Usagi's hand.

     Before Usagi could respond, Miko poked her head in Moshi's room.
"Moshi, I'm going to work now, If you need me you have the office number.
Bye sweetie see you later."

     "Ja ne, Okaasan!" she answered and smiled.

     "Bai, bai Takanera-san," Usagi said with a smile.  She turned back to
Moshi, her face taking on a dark look. "You know Moshi you were right, We
picked the wrong Sailor Earth, and she killed the rest of the Senshi.
Only you and I survive now."

     Moshi's eyes grew big and she drew in a sharp breath. "Mako-chan,
Minako-chan, Rei-chan, Ami-chan, Chibiusa-chan, Mamoru-san...  Iie, it's
not true!" Tears began to roll down her cheeks staining her pajamas.

     "Hai, it is Mo-chan," Usagi replied, putting an arm around her
shoulders. "We must go find this mimic now!"  Usagi stood and said, "Moon
Cosmic Power...Make up!!"

     Moshi closely examined Sailor Moon, the one thing she noticed was
her boots, the crescent moons that once decorated them was gone.  It
dawned on her that this was the mimic, it found her and meant to kill her!
She jumped from her bed, grabbing her star from the night table.  Holding
the star she said, "Earth Star Power...Make up!!"

     Sailor Earth and the mimic left her house and headed for the downtown
area.  Standing on top of a building, the fake Sailor Moon asked for her
to wait here for the mimic.  Feeling this was her only chance, Sailor
Earth unleashed her attack.  "I know who you are mimic!" she yelled.

     The mimic gasped, "How did you know it was me!"

     "Your boots gave it away, Sailor Moon has small crescent moons on her
boots!" she snarled, "Life Force!!!!!!!"  Her attack hit the mimic square
in the chest.  With a scream it went flying over the edge of the building.
Sailor Earth tapped her head jewel trying to get in contact with the
senshi.

     "Ami here, who is this I can't see your face," Ami said puzzled.

     "This is Sailor Earth I need help downtown now, near the shopping
mall!"

     "On my way!" Ami said, getting her henshin stick.

*                        *                            *                 *

     "Mercury Star Power....Make up!!"  The waters of Mercury surrounded
Ami, turning her into Sailor Mercury.

     "Hey! Why are you transforming!?" A confused Minako asked.

     "Sailor Earth needs our help now, hurry lets go!" She responded.

     Minako held her henshin stick up and said, "Venus Star Power...Make
up!!"

     Together Sailor Mercury and Venus headed to help Sailor Earth.

*                        *                            *                 *

     "Oh you think you're so smart don't you!" The mimic growled as it
clambered over the edge of the building.  It closed it's eyes and
morphed into Sailor Earth.

     Sailor Earth threw her hands into the air and said, "Cosmic." A dark
cloud appeared from her tiara as the lightning began to sparkle. With a
lightning bolt between her hands she flung the bolt at the mimic and
yelled, "lightning!!!!!!"  The lightning bolt however fizzled after she
threw it.  Looking at her hands she wondered why it didn't work.

     "Shabon...spray!!" Mercury released a cloud of bubbles that rendered
their vision.  Sailor Earth made her way towards Mercury.

     "Sailor Mercury, Thanks for coming the mimic is over there!" She said, 
pointing into the fog.

     Sailor Mercury smiled and nodded. "Sailor Venus is here with me too,
lets put this mimic out it's misery!"

     Once the fog cleared, the mimic wiped it's watery eyes and looked
around. "Where did that miserable girl go!" It snarled.

     "Are!" Sailor Mercury called standing and folding her arms.

     "We don't appreciate youmas like you coming here imitating the people
we care about!" Sailor Venus said, standing with her back to Mercury.

     "In the name of the planet Earth. It's good night for you!" Sailor
Earth said, crouched in front of Mercury and Venus.

     The mimic snorted and said, "Oh yeah, I'm scared now."  It reverted
to it's true form, a shapless mass that quivered with each word it spoke.
"I almost got rid of Sailor Earth, but never mind.  I'll kill three with
one blow."  A spike of dark energy appeared and headed for the Senshi.
Sailor Earth placed her hands together and closed her eyes.  A bright
purple shield of energy surrounded them.

     "Venus attack while I keep the shield up!" Sailor Earth cried,
straining to keep the energy around them.

     Sailor Venus nodded and said, "Venus...Love Me Chain!!!!!!!!!"  Her
love me chain wrapped around the mimic.  It howeled and broke the chain.
Pieces of her chain hit the shield causing it to fizzle.  Before Sailor
Earth could concentrate the shield again, the quantum spike of energy
broke the shield, causing the Senshi to go sprawling.  Sailor Earth was
too drained to move, the shield took all her strength.

     "I can't get the shield again, my energy is drained," she croaked,
her hand going to her henshin star. "Only if I could drain from him..."
She whispered.  The mimic approached the fallen Senshi prepared to deliver
a death blow.
 
     "Moon Tiara Action!" Sailor Moon cried as her tiara cut through the
mimic's mass. It howeled and turned it's wrath towards her.

     "Ai to seigi no, seera fu Bishoujo senshi, SEERA MUUN!!" she said,
doing her usual pose.

     "...Seera Chibi Moon!" Chibi Moon said, copying Sailor Moon's
pose.

     Together both Moons said, "..Tuskini Kawatte..Oshiokiyo!"

     "Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Mars too!" Sailor Mars said with a wicked
smile.

     "Oh isn't this nice, the whole gang is here. I'm not dumb, I know
when I'm out numbered." It pointed a finger at Sailor Earth, who was still
numb from the blast.  Tendrils of dark smoke swirled around her as she
began to flicker from sight.

     "Sailor Earth!!!" Sailor Moon cried.

     "If you want to see your Sailor friend again, you'd know where to
find me." With that the mimic vanished, leaving the senshi stunned.  Once
the smoke cleared and the sun began to shine again, a golden twinkle
caught Chibi Moon's eye, running over she picked it up and ran back to
Sailor Moon.

     Jupiter frowned and growled. "How where we find this idiot, he didn't
tell us where he would be!!"

    "Nani kore, Chibi Moon?" Sailor Moon asked looking at what Chibi Moon
handed her. "Oh no...it's Sailor Earth's ring" She sniffled, placing the
ring on her finger as a reminder.
