Legal Gig: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon is property of Toei Animation, Kodansha and Takeuchi Naoko. Project: Sailor Earth, The Utopian Chronicles and Sailor Earth/Takanera Moshi are property of Tory L. Brown. Any reference to anyone living or dead is purely coincidental, or the author just lost her mind for a second or so... This year marks the 15th anniversary of PSE! So, I've decided to go ahead and give it a new rewrite. Moshi's getting a bit of a personality overhaul so a few of you may not like her for a little bit! PSE's timeline spans from BSSM S to STARS. Moshi's first appearence occurs AFTER episode 101, Usagi's birthday episode. She is around for what could be about 2 episodes and then leaves.
Project Sailor Earth Chapter 3: Is She Friend of Foe?
"Listen," Sailor Earth started. "Just because you've been working this place for some time, doesn't mean there aren't other senshi out there," Sailor Earth stated, folding her arms. "Like it or not, I'm here to stay, whether you remember a Sailor Earth or not." Sailor Moon grabbed Sailor Earth's slender wrist when she turned to walk away. This stopped the smaller senshi and she turned back with one dark eyebrow cocked in question. "Wait a second! I want to ask you something!" Earth visibly bristled at Sailor Moon's touch and quickly jerked her arm away. She narrowed her violet eyes until they looked like slits of purple ice. "What?" Moon felt the coldness of her stare and actually took a few steps backwards. "I just wanted to know if you'll meet with us later. So we can talk and get to know each other." Mars exclaimed in shock. "What?" Moon fidgeted slightly, cringing at Mars' outburst. "Well now that we know that there is another senshi, we need to find a way to work together. It's obvious that these bug creatures are going to keep popping up!" Earth's lips curled at Mars' outburst. "As nice as that sounds, I'll have to say no. It's quite apparent your friend in red there doesn't want anything to do with me." This time it was the fire senshi's turn to bristle. "It's just that we don't know you from a can of paint! We don't know if you're good or evil yet!" Earth laughed. "Good or evil? Is she serious?" she asked Jupiter, hiking a thumb at Mars. Jupiter folded her arms across her ample bosom. "We all are." The tan senshi's expression turned from a slight smirk to a frown. "Really? In that case the answer is definitely no." "Why?" Moon asked with concern showing on her youthful face. "Let's see, right now it's 5 on 1 and this 1 is not feeling too safe. Who is to say that you guys aren't evil," Earth started, taking a step back and folding her arms. "After all, I don't know any of you from a can of paint either." She turned her gaze on Mars, who bristled again at her own words being thrown back at her. Both pairs of violet eyes bore into each other as the silent tension between the two grew. Finally, Earth let out a loud sigh as she turned to walk away again. "I don't have time for this shit. See you guys later, if I see you again." "That little…" Mars growled at the retreating figure. "What was her problem!?" Mercury shrugged. "I don't know, but I can certainly understand her hesitation. After all, it's just 1 of her but 5 of us standing here. That's a little bit intimidating, don't you think?" Jupiter and Moon nodded slightly while Venus watched the tan senshi walk away. She remembered fighting by herself a few years ago and could imagine how stressed out the small girl was. "Look guys," Venus spoke up. "Next time just take it a little easy on her. I've been where she's at now, and it's not a pretty place to visit."
Moshi was still fuming to herself about the interaction with the other senshi the next day on her way to school. For some reason, the one called Sailor Mars in the red really pissed her off. Moshi was used to confrontation, for some reason people always took her smaller statue as an invitation to cause strife. Years of this made the small girl into a somewhat feisty individual, not afraid to fight for her own. It didn't help that Moshi had a slight temper that tended to go off at a moment's notice. It wasn't that she had anger issues, but she attributed it to stress: The stress of losing her former team and the stress of being alone. She begrudgingly admitted that she did feel a spark of hope upon learning that there were senshi in Tokyo, but that spark quickly died out as she felt their hesitation in meeting her. The first half of school went without hesitation. She changed her shoes and headed to class 2-1. She waved to Naru and settled at her desk to unpack her book bag. She was placing her notebooks in the desk when she saw Usagi skid into the room, just making it before the final bell. Moshi watched as the blonde skipped over to her desk and sat down with a plop. "Is she always late?" Naru giggled and nodded. "Oh yeah, Usagi-chan is notorious for being late. I'm amazed she made it today." Moshi grinned. "She still has a piece of toast in her mouth!" Both girls laughed, covering their mouths to stifle their giggles. Usagi, hearing the peals of laughter, turned around in her seat. With a grin, she raised her piece of toast in a gesture simulating someone holding a glass up for a toast. Still laughing, Naru said, "That's Usagi-chan!" The period before lunch today was a free period, so most of the students in 2-1 started their lunches early. Moshi, who had forgotten how strenuous Japanese studies were, had found comfort in putting her head down on her desk. "Takanera-san," Naru stated, shaking Moshi slightly. "Did you bring your lunch today?" Moshi's head shot up. She'd forgotten to pack a lunch! "Dammit!" she cursed, making Naru blanch at her outburst. Seeing Naru flinch at her outburst, she blushed slightly. "I didn't bring a lunch today, so I guess I have to go to the cafeteria." She grimaced, digging into her bookbag for her wallet. Moshi gave a small wave and headed upstairs to the cafeteria. Her memories of school cafeterias weren't fond ones. Her fears were put to rest when she reached the cafeteria, there were a few lines, but not a crazed mob that she was thinking it would be. She got in the ramen line and purchased a large bowl. She then got in the bread line and purchased two curry breads and two melon breads. Happy with her purchases, she headed to the exit when she felt a sharp tug on her left ponytail. The tug caused her bun to unravel, letting her hair fell over her shoulder like a dark curtain. She uttered an oath under her breath as she turned to face the culprit. Her eyes narrowed as she settled on Takagi with another girl. She prepared to unleash another profanity laced outburst when Takagi and her friends suddenly started to back away. Moshi quirked a dark eyebrow and looked over her shoulder. She saw a tall girl in a tan school uniform with a reddish ponytail exiting the lunch room. "Hey!" she called, following the tall girl. The tall auburn haired girl paused and turned around. "Yes?" Moshi paused and looked up at the girl, meeting her sparkling green eyes. "Did you just freak out those two back there?" She shrugged nonchalantly. "I just gave them a look, that wasn't cool what they did to you. You could have dropped that hot ramen on yourself." Moshi smirked, that was a first. Someone actually took up for her? "I'm Takanera Moshi. I just transferred here last week." The tall girl smiled. "Kino Makoto. Let me guess, Osaka?" Moshi laughed. "The accent, I know. You're the third person to tell me that." "Well, Takanera Moshi, have a great lunch, I have some work to catch up on," Makoto stated, giving Moshi a small wave and walking away. "Thanks again," Moshi called to her retreating figure. "Not a problem," Makoto replied, throwing up her hand in a wave. Taking care not to spill her ramen, Moshi carefully made his way to the courtyard outside to where her new classmates were waiting. She spied Usagi and Naru sitting under a tree with two other girls. She guessed it was Yumi and Kari. Upon seeing Moshi and the state of her hair, Usagi rushed to over, taking the breads from her grasp. "Wow, did the cafeteria get a little crazy?" Usagi asked, clearing a spot for Moshi to sit. "No, Takagi struck again," Moshi said with a grumble. She removed the pins that were once holding the left bun in place. "Want me to pin it up for you?" Usagi offered. Moshi shook her head. "Nah, it's ok." She removed the pins from the other bun. Now free, her hair cascaded over her shoulders, pooling onto the ground behind her. In case of emergencies, Moshi always kept a piece of ribbon in her pocket. She pulled out one of the pink ribbons she wore on her first day and tied the hair at the nape of her neck into a makeshift ponytail. While they tore into their food, the girls chattered. Moshi was learning more about Juuban and the politics of Juuban junior high as she quietly listened on, slurping her ramen and nibbling on her curry bread. Before she knew it, Usagi had already wrangled her into taking a Juuban tour after school. Moshi had thought about saying no, but then her mother's voice came into her mind about making new friends. "I guess, I don't have to be home early today," Moshi said with a sigh of defeat. Naru giggled and elbowed Moshi in her side. "When Usagi-chan puts her mind to it, there's no stopping her." Usagi gave a wink and flashed a victory sign. "Will you come too, Naru-chan?" Naru shook her head as she wiped her mouth with her napking. "I have to help mom with the store today. It's inventory time," she said with a sigh. The girls finished with their conversation and lunches. Hearing the bell ringing in the end of lunch, the group stood up, straightening their skirts and collecting their trash. They headed back to class to finish their lessons of the day. Class was uneventful, no profanity laced outbursts from Moshi and even Takagi seemed to mind her own business. Their last teacher was doling out their homework, earning a collective groan from the class. Moshi gathered her notebooks from the desk and started to clean up in preparation to leave. Usagi popped over to Moshi's desk with a grin. "Let's get a move on it! I want to head to the café for a parfait!" Moshi's eyes lit up at the mention of the chocolaty treat. "I'm down! Let's go!" The two headed downstairs, running into Ami along the way. They changed their shoes and headed to the café. Moshi was eager to get her hands on the delicious chocolate parfait she had the last time she was there. She felt herself start to drool. Usagi laughed and pointed at Moshi. "She's drooling!" Moshi blushed and wiped her mouth. "Am not!" She turned her nose in the air. Ami giggled at Moshi and Usagi. "We're almost there. Don't hurt yourselves." The trio rounded the corner, passing an electronics shop. Moshi paused to look in the window and noticed they had batteries on sale. She needed some more batteries for her music player and couldn't pass this up. "Say, you two go ahead and I'll be along in a second. I want to grab these batteries they have on sale," Moshi said, pointing to the display in the window. Usagi looked at Ami and then nodded. "Ok, don't take too long though. I'll eat all the parfaits!" Moshi giggled. "I'll just be a minute!" she said opening the door to the store. She headed inside and spoke to the clerk about the batteries in the window. Not only were they on sale, but they were a 2 for 1 deal. She would be set with batteries for at least a few months. Putting her purchase in her book bag and exiting the shop. She headed towards the café where Usagi and Ami were waiting for her. She grabbed the café's door handle and suddenly felt uneasy. Another bugman was somewhere nearby. She cursed under her breath and took a step backwards looking up. At the top of the café, she saw a silhouette. Inside the café, Ami was looking at the menu when Usagi spied Moshi heading to the café. "Look, there she is." When Moshi darted away, Usagi looked at Ami worriedly. "Something's wrong, come on!" The two friends grabbed their bags and hurried from the café, heading in the direction their new friend went. They saw Moshi's pink skirt turn the corner and they quickly followed. Turning the corner, they saw her skirt turn another corner, heading into a dead end. "Where is she going?" Ami asked. It didn't seem that Moshi was being chased. "I don't know, but I hope she's not in trouble." Usagi replied, her hand going to her chest where her brooch was. The two entered the dead end to see Moshi standing before a bugman. The tiny girl's form started to glow tan when she called out, "Earth planet power, make up!" Sailor Earth turned around upon hearing the loud gasps and saw her two new friends looking at her with open mouths. "Shit!" she cursed.
